• Found family in 1871 census at Crescent Road, Brentwood. Also found were Thomas J. HAMMOND, aged 57, Engineer, born Sheerness, Kent and Amelia HAMMOND, aged 46, born London
• Amelia's BC shows these to be Amelia's parents but her MC shows her father to be Thomas HENRY HAMMOND.
• Thomas SHAW HAMMOND appears on her MC as witness. So we have three males named Thomas HAMMOND.
• Thomas J. and Amelia are too young to be the grandparents of 20-year-old Amelia. That the women are both named Amelia suggests they are mother and daughter. I accept that Thomas John is her father.
• Found family in 1881 census at 26, Myra Street, Woolwich (?)
• Found family in 1891 census at 21, Crownfield Road, Leytonstone.
